Bois et Cornemuses, wind instruments
Visit the workshop and see the instruments.
The Bois et Cornemuses association was formed to manage the collection of Claude Girard, who makes early wind instruments.
The association's aim is to educate people about bagpipes and early wind instruments with facsimiles of instruments dating from the Middle Ages to the 18th century made by Claude Girard. The association keeps our musical heritage alive through exhibitions, talks, discovery workshops and concerts.
You don't need to be an early music aficionado to appreciate the work of Claude Girard; all you need is an inquiring mind and an interest in history, because Claude will take you back in time by showing you his instruments in his workshop.
Courses available: reed-making, learning to play different instruments. "This cooperation between my instrument-making and "Bois et Cornemuses" enables us to offer different activities that help people to discover periods when there was a range of musical instruments that pre-dates today's instruments." Claude Girard.
