Aux Bois Gravés
Just a stone's throw from the Church of Notre-Dame-la-Grande, come to "Aux Bois Gravés" studio and gallery and soak up the cosy and unconventional atmosphere, the New Orleans-style music and the smell of turpentine.
Here the historical techniques of relief printing are kept alive: artist Jérôme Bouchard creates the artwork and then engraves the plates used to make his prints, in both black and white and colour.
The printing is all done by hand using letterpress machines known as 'proofing presses'. One of the walls of the studio features nearly forty year's of his work: nudes, landscapes, portraits, free figuration, abstracts and more.
