The Augustian Abbey of Fontaine le Comte
The Ancient Augustine Abbey was founded in 1130 AD by Count Guillaume of Poitiers. With imposing proportions, it has a sombre decor and owes its originality to the light which penetrates into the apse through seven semicircular arched windows. You can see the model and film on the history of the Fontaine le Comte in the Logis Abbatial. Nearby is Poitiers, town of Art and History.
