Set on the site of an earlier edifice, the priory church of Saint George was entirely rebuilt towards the end of the 12th century. A lovely Angevin Gothic style church whose wall paintings were only recently discovered and whose bell tower dates from the 14th century. The 'Great Cross' is made of inlaid wood and was, one of the mission crosses to be hidden under the bell tower in 1796 in order to save it from being destroyed during the revolution. Discover the Village of Vivonne with its ancient streets and alleyways. Many water sport activities (canoeing, swimming..) Nearby: Cerigny Chapel and the Medieval Château-Larcher.
