  • Église de Saint-Pierre-les-Églises

This quaint little church stands in a Merovingian cemetery attested to by the sarcophagi which still remain. The main interest of this church is its pre-Romanesque apse built by small tools and with an interior covered with 5th century frescoes. On the left-hand side of the church you can see representations of the Crucifixion, the Visitation and below, the Journey and the Adoration of the Magi. To the right you will see the bathing of the baby Jesus following his birth with a depiction of Saint Michael slaying the dragon right above it. Not to miss: the medieval town and Géants du Ciel , bird show and various summer events and entertainment. Nearby : the World Heritage listed Saint Savin Abbey
