Aire d'accueil camping-car - Camping du Moulin de la Gassotte
On the edge of one of the most picturesque valleys of the department, the camper van service area is located next to the Moulin de la Gassotte Campsite. This is an ideal spot to discover the Abbey of Saint-Savin, which is a listed Unesco World Heritage site for its 12th century frescoes. A visit of the Saint-Savin Abbey can be followed by a visit to the Valley of the Frescos : a route connecting ten monuments decorated with frescoes dating from the 12th to the 19th century. Explore the Gartempe Valley up to Montmorillon and its "Town of the Writte.n Word and Book Crafts" (Cité de l'Ecrit et des Métiers du Livre). It is also the departure point for many walks to sites such as: Angle-sur-l'Anglin, one of the most beautiful villages in France, Chauvigny and its medieval city and Snake Island (l'Ile aux Serpents) in La Trimouille.
