La Gacheterie

Old farm attested for the first time in 1617, appears on the map of Cassini (1760). This set is mentioned "to be reported" in the general inventory of monuments and artistic riches of France.

The current dwelling and its outbuildings were however rebuilt in 1861. All that remains of the 17th century buildings are the sheepfold and the staircase of the old dwelling. Several agricultural worker houses were destroyed at the end of the 20th century. The whole formed a hamlet which lived in autarky with its wells, ovens and agricultural exploitation.

Today Marie-José and Raymond LEBAS welcome you to buildings that have been undergoing continuous restoration since the early 2000s. The works have been rewarded with a label from the Heritage Foundation.
