Musée Rural et Musée du Feu de la Vieillardière

Back

La Vieillardière is a locality, acquired by the municipality in 1990. It is made available to the association l'Espérance to develop a rural museum, then a fire museum.
The barn is converted into a performance hall. The stables and sheds have been transformed into workshops for former rural craftsmen, with audio-visual displays. A space has been converted into an animated museum of animal traction machines, haymaking and harvesting; another in the museum of the history of the plow.
There is also a stable, a chicken coop, a laundry room, a dairy, a bakery, a press, an oil mill. A large attic houses the fire museum dedicated to the history of firefighters.
This museum exhibits an impressive collection of objects presented under glass; it is unique in the region. Animations, music or theater shows are organized throughout the year.
