Voyage à travers l'Art Rupestre Mondial
Prehistoric European art is often mentioned. But what about the rest of the world? Through this exhibition, rock art from the five continents is presented from major sites. It is an opportunity to take a step aside and discover artistic expressions that sometimes preceded European sites by several millennia. It thus appears that wall art did not emerge in Europe and that many human societies continued to express their imagination as their testimony sometimes until relatively recent times.
For this overview, university specialists collaborated, each in their own field, to highlight often little-known sites in Africa, Asia and Oceania. This exhibition was designed in consultation with members of the RED collective project from the University of Paris 1 and the National Center for Prehistory. Highlights
