The Berrye fortress is a pure testament to the Middle Ages, unaltered during the Renaissance. It belonged to prominent French families, the last of whom, Bishop Brézé of Dreux, added a wing in the 19th century.
The site includes a keep, a chapel, ramparts, towers with dungeons and dry moats.
