Église Saint-Pierre de Savigny-sous-Faye
Dating from the 12th century, it was significantly altered during the Gothic period. This church allows us to show the evolution of construction techniques and the difficulties encountered by the companions in adapting to architectural developments, particularly for the vaulting. The keystones, with the arms of a Dauphin of France, Count of Poitou, can date back to the 15th century.
The recumbent figure which houses the relics of the Saint-Fort was the subject of a pilgrimage: mothers brought their children there so that the
Saint gives them health and vigor. The cult was so developed that the expansion of the church was considered in 1864.
