PL’Secrets : Loudun au son des cloches
Hosted by Vincent Aguillon, heritage facilitator, and co-commented by Thierry Allard and Stéphanie Cadars, curators of Antiquities and Works of Art of the VienneThe unique visit will highlight the role of bells, their symbolism, their uses and their place in the soundscape of the Loudun region throughout the centuries.
The tour will begin at the Sainte-Croix collegiate church with a guided tour of the exhibition, before continuing in the Martray district to see the 1905 bell and its belfry.
The visit will conclude at the Charbonneau-Lassay Museum, where two bronze mortars from the former Loudun hospital, listed as Historical Monuments, will be on display. This final stop will be narrated by Thierry Allard and Jean-Yves Chèvre-Baleige, head of the Loudun museums.
