Secrets de Pays : Découverte d'un Patrimoine Industriel - Les Fours à Chaux
As part of a PL'Secrets, set off to discover two old lime kilns for tiles and bricks, located in Chauleries and Renoué, testimonies of a craft activity that has now disappeared but was essential to the history of the territory.
This visit will allow you to explore the last two artisanal kilns in the North.Vienneexceptionally open to the public for this day, and to understand the role of lime kilns in the production of materials essential to construction and agriculture.
The discovery will be guided by:
- Vincent Aguillon, heritage facilitator,
- Jacques Albert, a researcher from Loudun and son of one of the very last Challier fishermen in the North-Vienne,
- François Peyrat, specialist in the land and its crafts.
