Sentier GR 655 – Lusignan / Saint-Sauvant

Back

The small town of Lusignan, cradle of the legend of the fairy Mélusine, was in the Middle Ages an essential place of passage and stay for hikers. They found there the lodging and the protection of the powerful lords of Lusignan.

A fortress erected on the promontory dominated the valley of the Vonne. On its site is now a garden dating from the 18th century: the promenade of Blossac.

In Saint-Sauvant, stop for a moment to admire the XNUMXth century church of Saint-Sylain in Saint-Sauvant.
