GRP® Moussais
Possible departures:
From Châtellerault: reach the Henri IV bridge, go up the Vienne towards Cenon, and follow the GR®655.
From Poitiers: join the Pépinière sports complex, follow the GR®364/655, in the direction of Fontaine.
In a rich and varied hilly environment, forest, heath, valleys, this circuit will allow you to discover, among other things, the dry valley of Ensoulesse (area protected by the Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels de Poitou-Charentes), the forest of Moulière (forest estate of 6 ha), Pinail (natural reserve containing rare flora and fauna), Vieux-Poitiers (remains of a Gallo-Roman theater which could accommodate 800 spectators), the site of the Battle of Poitiers ( presumed place of the meeting of Charles Martel and the Arab armies in 10), the castle of Dissay (built in the 000th century, it still has its enclosure and its moat).
