Vignoble du Haut-Poitou
In the heart of the country of Futuroscope, the wines of Haut-Poitou define themselves as “the wines of the south of the Loire” even if they boast more generous sunshine and much lower rainfall!
It is the alternation, in the fall, of warm, bright days and cool nights, combined with a clay-limestone terroir on tuffeau or groies chalk and the know-how of the winegrowers, which gives the grapes these specific aromas which make the wines of Haut-Poitou original.
As here, the AOC Haut Poitou focused on qualitative but also historical strongholds, attested by collective memory as well as specific buildings (huts, cellars, 19th century mansions, golden age of the vineyard), witness to a very important wine-growing past. Haut-Poitou wines are characterized above all by a sensation of freshness and lightness, followed by well-marked aromas.
