The caves are currently closed for security reasons.
The testimonies of a human and continuous occupation since Prehistory are very numerous in Poitou. Located on the right bank of the Charente, four caves, the largest and most famous of which is the Grotte du Puits, have yielded many prehistoric remains: carved flints, needle harpoons... as well as many dated works of art. from the Magdalenian period.
An interpretation trail allows you to discover the caves and the daily life of our ancestors by following the course of the Charente river.
