Superb Romanesque building built in the 1634th century. In XNUMX, exorcism sessions took place there as part of the trial of Urbain Grandier, a priest accused of witchcraft by nuns. The case has gone down in history as the "Loudun Possessed Affair".
From the 1991th century, the church was transformed into a covered market until 1995. Today, the Collegiate stands out as one of the major monuments of Loudun's heritage with its exceptional painted decorations from the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, restored in XNUMX. Since then, this monument has served as a setting for many exhibitions and concerts.
The exhibitions are thus highlighted to the delight of artists and visitors alike.
