A stopover on the Camino de Compostela since the XNUMXth century, the Saint-Hilaire-le-Grand church is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Built in the XNUMXth century, the church of the famous Poitevin bishop Hilaire offers a chancel and a Romanesque transept of impressive height and great luminosity. Remarkable for the balance of the volumes, the ambulatory of Saint-Hilaire opens onto four chapels decorated with Romanesque murals depicting a scene taken from the Apocalypse.
