Departing from the medieval town of Chauvigny, we set off for a 77 km journey. The figure can be scary, I admit, my thighs already hurt before I even get on the bike, but the very idea of taste good cheese quickly makes me forget my fears. In the heart of the beautiful countryside of the Vienne, the landscapes of valleys alternate with more agricultural landscapes.

So that’s what vacations are like in “slow” mode! After almost 30 km of “quiet” pedaling, the first reward is there: the farm The meadows of Gartempe. With such a poetic name, we can't wait to taste the products made on site. Fresh cheese, but also gourmet and creamy dairy desserts delight our taste buds. Yum !

We taste Poitou cheeses!

Pedaling is nice, but when you are cheese aficionado and tasting is the goal of the trip, there is no point in resisting! It is therefore with all honor that we give in to the temptation of goat's cheese Maras Farm. While we continue the tastings discovering the difference between a chabi, a log or even a piece of droppings, the children have already left their bikes to go meet the 150 goats on the farm.

Tasting, achats, it's time to get back on the bike direction the Rake Farm. And yes, we have not yet tasted the famous Mothais sur Feuille, one of the region's star cheeses! No way not to test it. As the saying goes, when you love, you don't count, that goes for both the cheese and the miles traveled!
