Chapelle des Feuillants, the rebirth of a jewel

©Thomas JELINEK - Agence Zébrelle Abandoned for several years, the Chapel of the Feuillants à Poitiers Since 2018, it has been completely restored to become a venue for shows and cultural events. At the head of this project, the association The Song of the Feuillants who struggles, through the organization of events, to find the necessary funding.
At the origin of the project
“It's a crazy challenge! “, specifies from the outset Agnes Rame, posted underimpressive dome of the Chapelle des Feuillants. This old neoclassical chapel built in 1818, threatened with destruction before being listed as a Historical Monument, has stalls and a superb grandstand, also listed.
A complementary artistic offer
When I learned that the EHPAD* des Feuillants wanted to sell the chapel, I asked to visit it. It was love at first sight! I was immediately won over by the idea of making it a performance venue, particularly with its 22 meter ceilings and exceptional acoustics.Agnes Rame
Everything is to be imagined, but the wish is to display an artistic offer complementary to that already existing in Poitiers, which will be based on various disciplines such as singing, music, dance...
A music video made in 2021 by the singer Cilou, to publicize and promote the site, pretty much sums up the expected spirit of the place.
A third place, Les Feuillants
Since its takeover by The Song of the Feuillants » the chapel has already had the opportunity to be discovered, in particular during the Heritage Days of 2018 (first opening to the public) and during the following ones. But also during a charity concert by Hugues Aufray, a landmark event in 2019.
In this promotional approach and this concern to make known and adhere to as many people as possible, the association has been based since 2021 on a new structure: a third place called Les Feuillants, from the name of the street where it is located. At number 7, close to the chapel.
