A day with donkey Martin

A walk in good company

I live in the heart of Jazeneuil, a small village in the Poitevine countryside. It's great: I have access to nature every day. THE trees, flowers, birds, other four-legged friends…. I am very lucky: my companions and I are treated like queens and kings.
It is Estelle who takes care of us, a lovely woman. She really likes us, and gave me a strange but nice name: Martin.

I immediately understand that the day is going to be lively: we go on adventures with little and big humans ! The little ones always give me lots of cuddles… I love it. They arrive, I hear laughter, I walk towards them slowly... they saw me! After a few exchanges between them, they bring back equipment. We will all prepare together for a long walk and I will guide them along the paths.

They look so happy, young and old! I'm not saying that I always want to move forward, sometimes I have my little whims, but their gentle words always bring me back to my senses.
At midday, we stop at the riverside for lunch. Bread and carrots for me, boxes full of good things for humans. Everyone is having a good time and it's not nonsense!

Return is everything so happy and I'm sure that secretly, no one wants to say goodbye. Mathilde whispers in my ear “I’m going to miss you” and I think I’m going to miss her too! The day ends and I look forward to meeting other humans in the next few days.
